Summer Dance Class FAQ
How long is my commitment once I have registered?
By registering for the Summer Session, you are committing to the selected class(es) for the entire Summer Session.
Is there a registration fee?
There is no registration fee for our summer classes.
When do classes start?
Classes begin the week of June 22nd.
What should my child wear, and what shoes are required?
Dress codes and shoe requirements are listed under each class description.
Is tuition pro-rated if the studio closes due to inclement weather?
Summer tuition is based on the 6-week session or specific Camps as noted on our schedule. If classes are missed due to inclement weather, make-up days will be scheduled and offered.
How do I stay up to date with studio news?

How can I get in touch with my child's teacher?
Please email [email protected] or call (804) 378-7860. Your message will be forwarded to the appropriate instructor.
How do I make a payment?
Invoices are sent via email. We accept payments via cash, check, credit/debit cards, and ACH transfers. To secure your child’s spot, 50% of the tuition is due at the time of registration. The remaining balance is due during the first session of the class (week of June 16).
Returned Checks
RETURNED CHECKS are charged $35 for additional handling. A second returned check requires future payments to be made in cash or money order in advance.
Fall Dance Class FAQ
How long is the season for?/How long is my commitment once I have registered?
Upon registration, you are committing to the class(es) similar to a full school year, September thru May. There is typically an annual Recital early to mid-June. Classes meet on the designated day and time once per week for the entirety of the 9-month season.
What if my child(ren) does not want to complete the season?
Each class withdrawal request MUST be submitted in writing 30 days IN ADVANCE and in person to a Stars in Motion staff member. There is a two-month minimum enrollment requirement, and you are responsible for tuition for those two months of payments. Any withdrawals after March 31, 2027, will incur full-year tuition.
If your dancer begins to hesitate about attending class, please reach out to us. In many cases, we can work together to identify the cause and find a solution. Whether it's a confidence concern, they're missing mom or dad, or another obstacle, our goal is to support every dancer and help them have a positive experience at Stars in Motion.
Is there a registration fee?
Yes, $25.00 per child. This fee is non-refundable and secures your child(ren)'s spot in the class(es) desired. The fee also covers administrative handling.

How do I stay up-to-date with studio news?
At Stars in Motion, we strive to maintain a paperless environment by utilizing a variety of communication platforms, including email, social media, and occasional printed materials when necessary. All mass communication is sent through MailChimp, so be sure to subscribe to stay informed! To ensure you receive all important updates, please add [email protected] to your email’s safe senders list and check your spam/junk/promotional folders regularly.
We send newsletters as needed and frequently share important announcements, reminders, and studio updates on our social media channels, including Facebook and Instagram. Current SIM families are also encouraged to join and follow our private SIM Family Facebook Group for additional studio information, updates, and community engagement. Message us for those details!
Is tuition pro-rated if the studio must close due to inclement weather?
Tuition is based on an estimated 32 classes over the course of the dance year. Two inclement weather days are included in the tuition structure. Make-up classes may be provided when the schedule allows.

Monthly tuition is invoiced electronically from September through May. Preferred payment methods include cash or check; auto-draft via ACH, credit card, or debit card are also accepted.
